KabayanVPN is operated by an individual Filipino-owned business based in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. We provide a data-pack VPN service built specifically for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who need access to Philippine IP-based apps and services from abroad.

2. Information We Collect

When you sign up

• Name — to identify your account
• Email address — to send your access key and account communications
• Device type — to provide the correct configuration
• Country of residence — to understand our user base and improve service
• Chosen plan — Starter, Standard, or Pro

When you pay

Payment is processed through third-party platforms (PayPal and GCash). We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or GCash PINs. We only retain proof-of-payment confirmation screenshots that you voluntarily send us via Viber for manual activation.

During VPN use

KabayanVPN is powered by the Outline protocol (developed by Jigsaw/Google). We maintain the following minimal operational data:

• Data usage per access key — to track your remaining data balance and send usage alerts at 90%
• Connection timestamps — to assist with troubleshooting if you report a technical issue

We do not log which websites you visit, what you download, or the content of your traffic. Your browsing activity is private.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

• Create and manage your access key
• Send your configuration and access credentials via email
• Track your data usage and notify you when you're running low
• Respond to support requests you send us
• Improve our service and understand our user base
• Comply with applicable Philippine laws

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

4. Information Sharing

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — Our VPN infrastructure is hosted on cloud servers (DigitalOcean or similar). The hosting provider may have access to server-level metadata but not to personal identifiers.
• Legal obligations — We may disclose information if required to do so by Philippine law, court order, or government authority.
• Business transfers — If KabayanVPN is ever sold or merged, your data may transfer to the new owner, who would be bound by this policy.

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information (name, email, plan details) for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward in case of billing disputes or support requests.

If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Some residual information may be kept for legal and accounting purposes.

Connection usage data (data balance counters) is retained for the lifetime of your access key and deleted upon key deactivation.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted VPN connections using the Outline (Shadowsocks) protocol
• Access keys are unique per user and can be revoked at any time
• We do not store passwords — access is key-based
• Payment proofs are stored only as necessary for verification and then discarded

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately via Viber or email.

7. Your Rights

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), you have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion — Request removal of your personal data
• Portability — Receive your data in a structured, readable format
